SPOILER ALERT: Avengers Endgame Recap

I am sure by now most of us have seen Avengers: Endgame but if you haven't then stop reading this because I am not going to skirt around the details.  I'm just going say those things that we were all thinking or maybe just me, but you're going to hear all of it.

Now that you've all been warned we can proceed.  Instead of doing a play by play of the movie I'm going to talk about the main characters and what happened to them and how they destroyed and possibly saved all of us.

Tony Stark/ Iron Man

Let's jump into it then with the person who gave us the most feels.  Tony was the first avenger that we ever met those ten years ago.  We have grown to know him and love his despite his flaws.  And now he's gone.  There I said it!  I just got it out of the way.  Now we can all move on with our lives... except we can't because HE'S GONE!!!
Tony was kind of awesome in this movie and I'm not just saying that because he sacrificed himself to save all mankind.  Let's talk about this for a minute here.  First of all he survives being stuck in outer space.  Then five years later he and Pepper are happily married and they have a four - five year old girl named Morgan.  Tony is happy!
And what do the Avengers do?  They come up with this insane idea to go back in time and defeat Thanos and who do they want to help them to figure out how to make this whole time travel thing happen? That's right Tony!  He's a genius afterall.  And even though he says no he gets thinking about it and I mean that was like dangling candy in front of a baby and he figures it out.   Time travel!
Now let's talk about when he and Steve go back to the 70's and he meets his dad! I mean we got to see Tony as a dad giving his own dad advice about being a dad.  It was just so sweet!
During that final battle he was totally holding his own.  That moment when he hugged Spider Man and the whole movie theater went "Awww!"
14,000,605 outcomes but only one of them would end in them defeating Thanos or so Doctor Strange said.  This was the one and only chance that they had to defeat Thanos and it ended with the whole theater in tears.  They were all fighting and Tony had an idea he looked over to Doctor Strange who confirmed it and just like that Tony was able to craftly get all of the stones onto his hand and snap to kill all of the bad guys.   Thing is that no one barely not even Thanos can handle all of the stones at once.  Tony did and it costed him his life.
His death was sad but it was the funeral that really set me off.  The "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart." All the people that were there.  Am I the only one that knew who that random teenager was?  It was the boy from Iron Man 2.
Now a little bit of things I've been thinking about since I've seen the movie.  Tony didn't even want to time travel.  He said No.  He had his happy ending!  He was happy!  He had a wife and a kid!  And he was the one that had to sacrifice himself.  He's the one that died!  It wasn't fair.  His daughter is going to grow up without a dad.  But we all know that she is going to grow up to know what her father did for the world and when hard times come she's going to have the best guardians in the history of the world.

Steve Rogers/ Captain America

Now let's talk about the next saddest and yet happiest ending in this story.  Captain America grew old and happy with Peggy Carter.  Yup that's me just giving up the big stuff right at the beginning.  Okay now we can go back to the beginning.
Five years have passed since the snap and Cap is dealing with it in his own way.  He is helping others to deal with it.  I mean come on that is totally Cap!  And when he's not helping the civilians he's helping out his fellow heroes that are also struggling with all of the loss that they have encountered.
While traveling through the past the heroes that Steve is travelling with all take turns making fun of his old costume as well as his old body.  He also comes face to face with his past self and has to fight him as his past self is convinced that present Steve is Loki in disguise.  When Tony goes back to the 70s and meets his dad Steve goes with him and ends up pretty much coming face to face with what would have been his future, otherwise known as Peggy Carter.
Back in the present Steve is one of the main heroes in the fight against Thanos.  As they all are wailing on Thanos Steve sticks out his hand and catches... wait for it... Mjolnir!  That's right Captain America is worthy to wield the God of Thunders hammer!  I mean how AWESOME is that?!
Steve takes the stand alone against Thanos just as we believe that all is lost and suddenly we hear the voice of Sam Wilson "Cap?  Cap?  Can you hear me?  On your left!"   He also gets to say the words "Avengers Assemble!"
The war over Steve is the one that volunteers to take all of the stones back to their places in time and when he's supposed to come back he doesn't.  Everybody starts to worry about him until Bucky points our and older gentleman sitting not far from them.  After he returned all of the stones he decided to stay in the past where he is reunited with his true love Peggy Carter.  Beautiful and sad and beautifully sad!

Thor

I'm going to start this one off by saying THOR GOT FAT!!! I mean everybody that has been comparing their bodies to Thor's can stop now because even the mighty God of Thunder gained weight!  Also his story ends as he and Peter Quill are "not" arguing about who is the leader of the "Asgardians of the Galaxy."  Good times!  And probably good times to come!
Thor was there when the other Avengers came upon Thanos in his weakened state at the beginning of the movie.  Even though there was nothing that they could do at the time to undo what had been done by the snap Thor took his new ax and "went for the head."  He did end up killing Thanos.
Thor may have been the one to kill Thanos but that did nothing to help Thor's ego.  Five years later Thor is found in New Asgard hiding in his house, playing video games, drinking way too much beer, and eating way too much pizza, and Yes I'm going to say it again... HE'S FAT!
The team has to pretty much convince him to come back and help them get the stones back.  He ends up going back to past Asgard with Rocket.  I'm sorry to say that I didn't feel like he was that helpful.  Rocket came up with this great idea that Thor was going to woo Jane Foster so that they can get the stone that is effecting her, but Thor freaks out and ends up running off.  He does come face to face with his mother who understand immediately that he is from the future.  She helps him to understand that everything is going to be okay.
Thor is there during that last fight of course and he is even slightly proud when Mjolnir goes to Steve instead of him at one point in time Steve has Storm Breaker and Thor has Mjolnir and Thor stops and says "No I want the big one."  And he switch weapons.
After the big fight he tells Valkary that he is not going to be the king of New Asgard and she should be the Queen.  He then heads off with the Guardians of the Galaxy to destinations unknown.
Okay personal opinion time.  Thor could have done so much more.  He is awesome!  He always has been.  He's strong and understanding, but recently he has kind of lost all of that.  Yeah it's great that he's funny now but can he still be serious too?  I mean please?

Bruce Banner/ The Hulk

In the five years after the Snap Bruce and Hulk have come to an understanding and gamma experimentation and now they are one in the same.  He looks like the Hulk but he sounds a lot and thinks a lot like Banner.
While time travelling he goes back to get the time stone.  He's supposed to get it from Doctor Strange but he's five years too early at least according to the Ancient One.  He ends up in a struggle with her as she doesn't want to give up the time stone.  He has to convince her that Doctor Strange ends up giving it to Tony anyways and that they will use time travel again to put all of the stones right back to where they came from.
When it comes down to who is going to have to Snap to undo the Snap that was done by Thanos everybody comes to the understanding that it has to be the strongest of them which means the Hulk.  He does Snap and everybody comes back.  He does end up being in the huge fight against Thanos as well.
We don't really get a good ending for Hulk so hopefully in the future we will find out more.

Natasha Romonoff/ Black Widow

Image result for black widow endgame
Let's just jump to it shall we?  Black Widow is dead!!!  She sacrificed herself to get the Soul Stone and in the end save the world!  It was between her and Hawkeye and it ended up being her.  But we'll get to all of that later.
Natasha wanted the world to be good again.  When it was obvious that there was no way to undo the Snap she put herself in charge of all of the Avengers.  None of them really could do much but the little that they could do she was over all of it.
When they decide to go back in time she was all for it.  She was the one that helped to convince Tony.  I mean her and Pepper but still.  Her and Hawkeye ended up being on the team that went to Vormir to get the Soul Stone and as we learned from Infinity War the only way to get the Soul Stone is to sacrifice the thing you love.  Hawkeye and Black Widow fought against each other for who would be sacrificed.  At times it looked like it would be Clint that would fall over the edge and at times it looked like it would be Natasha, in the end she was hanging from Clint's hand and she let go and fell to her death.
At the end of the movie Bruce explains how when he unsnapped everybody he tried really hard to unsnap her too, but nothing happened.  Or did it?  I've been talking to a lot of people and what if she was unsnapped, but that she's just stranded out in space?  What if in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 they find her again?  What if she's still alive?!

Clint Barton/ Hawkeye
Image result for hawkeye endgame
Just like Scott Lang Clint Barton has been under house arrest for the last several years.  At the beginning of the movie he is with his family and he is happy.  He's even teaching his daughter how to shoot a bow and arrow.  And then the snap happens and he is the only one in his family that is left.
Let's just say that he kind of went on a killing spree.  All of the bad guys that he can find in the next five years are killed until Nat finds him and brings him in for some time travel.
He's even the one that they end up using to test out the time travel.  He is able to go back and he gets to hear and see his family again
The fight between him and Nat on Vormir goes down and he believes that he should be the one to die, but as I just explained Nat died instead.
He is there for the big fight against Thanos and for a while he holds onto the gauntlet so that Thanos can't get to it.  Tony sacrifices himself and Clint is able to be reunited with his family the very thing that he wanted the whole time.
Scott Lang/ Ant Man

Image result for ant man endgame
When we last saw Scott Lang he had just gone into the Quantum Tunnel and then had been abandoned as all of his friends were Snapped out of existence.  Five years has gone by and thanks to a rat the Quantum Tunnel is reactivated and Scott is finally brought back into the world.  For him it has only been five hours.  That's how he starts to think about time travelling.  Five hours instead of five years!
He goes back in time with Tony and Steve but he is sent back to the present before they go to the 70s.  He is of course there for the final battle and is able to save those who might have drowned in the attack on the Avengers Headquarters.

Everyone Else:
My favorite part of the whole movie was during the very last battle when you are so sure that the Avengers are all going to lose right after the Snap that brought everybody back and then Captain America hears "Cap...Cap... Can you hear me?  On your left!"  And all of the magic portals open and out comes EVERYBODY!!! It's like the best thing ever.  Standing ovation please!
"Is that everyone?"  Asks Doctor Strange.
"Who else is there?"
Or the part when Peter Parker and Iron Man hug.
Controversial Scene: When all of the woman of the MCU come together and have the amazing fight scene!  I mean don't get me wrong it was amazing!  I especially loved the fact that Pepper was there in a suit.  But I mean really did we have to have a whole scene of just the woman fighting?  I mean I'm a girl and I'm still scratching my head about that one.
Captain Marvel was not in this movie as much as I thought she was going to be after seeing Captain Marvel, but I did love Rocket's comment about her hair cut.
And I could keep going!  Try me!  Ask me any question about anyone and I'll give you my opinion.

I hope that you loved the movie as much as I did.  I hope you liked my recap and maybe even my opinions.  And as always have a Magical Day!
